It’s ODR season and it’s the time of year when hockey players get creative on the ice.

The whole concept of the outdoor rink is pretty flawless. Free ice with your buddies in the brisk Canadian outdoors, nothing really beats it. The only issue comes after you’ve been playing for a little while. We’re talking of course about the snow buildup on the ice.

There’s nothing worse than coming down on a breakaway, only to lose the puck because it got caught in a pile of snow on your blade. Well, if you happen to have a John Deere vehicle and a massive heater hanging around, then we have just the right solution for you! TSN’s very own Bryan Mudryk posted a brilliant video from Alberta’s Lake Skeleton of the most clever Zamboni you’ll probably ever see. Check it out!

Genius!

Zamboni’s have been making some noise on social media lately. How about this one that was caught chilling on the back of a truck on the highway? You can only find a picture like this one in Canada!

Now with improved spelling!

And while we’re still on the topic of Zambonis…

Kids have it real nice these days, eh? @bardown

Zambonis haven’t been the only creative inventions we’ve seen hit the ice lately. Spike Ball is now being combined with hockey and it looks like the greatest time ever.

Who are you playing #spikeball hockey at the #ODR with this winter? . (H/T @spikeball)
