One of the best things about winning the Stanley Cup is that you get to shave your beard off with no shame.

No hockey player will ever tell you that they enjoy shaving in the spring time, as it usally means there respsective teams didn’t make as far as they wanted to in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

For the Stanley Cup-winning Washington Capitals, the partying “appears” to be over for now, at least in the publicpshere known as the internet. That means that guys will start to get their bodies worked on ahead of a couple intense months of off-season training before camp gets going in September.

That includes shaving, as most players at this point are ready to be gone with their beards. That time has now come for the Washington Capitals, who saw team captain Alexander Ovechkin team up with Gillette and shave off his salt and pepper beard. Ovi even auctioned off the razors, and donated the proceeds to the American Special Hockey Association charity.

While many of his Capitals teammates will surely be shaving if they haven’t already, Tom Wilson decided to make his shaving public by teaming up with Gillette Canada in a video that shows off Wilson’s impeccable acting ability.

“Hey, I want to thank you,” Wilson says to his beard before giving it the chop. “We’ve been through a lot these past few months. We’ve grown so so much. But, it’s time to let you go.

“No, no. Shhhh. Don’t speak,” Wilson continues. “You’re only going to make this harder.”

The replies to the tweet are worth your time.

Tom sure cleans up well, doesn’t he?

Check out how he roasted Andre Burakovsky on his Instagram of the same ad.

Goodbye, beard. Ladies, what do you think?

We know Ryan Whitney sure does.

The destructive and controversial forward set a career high with 14 goals and 35 points in 78 games, and followed that up with 5 goals and 15 points in 21 playoff games playing on the Capitals top line with Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov.

The 24-year-old Toronto native will be a restricted free agent and will undoubtedly be in line for a raise on the $2,000,000 he made last season.
