The Ilya Kovalchuk sweepstakes are heating up and according to the latest from NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun, there are four teams that have emerged as the contenders for the goal scorer.

On Friday, Kovalchuk's agent will reportedly be meeting with Boston, Los Angeles, Vegas, and San Jose.

Barring anything unforeseen, there's a great chance Kovalchuk could play for a Western Conference team for the first time in his career.

The 35-year-old has only played for two franchises in his career (New Jersey and Atlanta), so it will be interesting to see if he goes out West and which of those teams he thinks has the best chance to win the Cup.
