Joey Votto has a more twisted sense of humour than most professional athletes and it makes him an absolute treasure in his sport.

Aside from the ridiculous talent he has (Causing him to get praise like “Best player ever” from Kris Bryant), at any moment he could do something totally bizarre just to mess with people. He has done less of it this year, because the team hasn’t been very good – which is no fun – but he was at it again this week against the Cubs.

In two consecutive games, when foul balls bounced to him at first base, a time when players normally lightly toss balls to fans along the first base line, he whipped the ball straight up and out of Wrigley Field. Literally, onto the roof and out of the stadium.

Joey, never change.

You would think that some of the fans along the line were saying something to him and that’s just sending a message, but who knows. One things for sure, he’s not afraid to bite back if he feels like a heckler is going to far.
