We recently posted about one of the rarest Connor McDavid rookie cards ever being up for auction on eBay and the bidding has since closed… at an enormous number.
It didn’t sell for quite as much as we thought it might, which goes to show you how much the condition of the card matters. Despite there only being 12 of these cards ever printed, the slightly less rare version actually sold for more because it was marked at a 9.5 mint as opposed to 9 mint.
Still, $51,108.84 CAD is a pretty enormous amount for a McDavid rookie card.
The price for the other card was quite a bit more, but we’ll be interested to see if any other higher mint versions of the gold card ever emerge.
The card will only go up in value as McDavid continues to take his place as one of the best hockey players of all time, so we’re sure we’ll see more sales of these cards in the future.
