With Patrick Mahomes back in the fold, you could almost hear a collective sigh of relief from the Chiefs’ faithful. The centre piece of their team was back to lead the team to the promise land. Or at least to the playoffs.

Unfortunately for those fans, it wasn’t meant to be. With Mahomes back many thought the Chiefs would flex their offensive strength, which they did to a certain extent, but (a little more unexpectedly) so did the Tennesee Titans.

Derrick Henry led the way as the Titans stuck around all game long. Late in the 4th they punched one in to officially take the lead. With less than a minute left, Mahomes managed to get the team downfield for a field goal try.

What could have been another sparkling moment in the young career of Mahomes didn’t come to fruition as the long FG attempt was blocked. Josh Kalu found the edge and got his hand on the ball, but Chiefs fans don’t think it was a legal play. They’re arguing that Kalu was offside when the ball was snapped.
