The Olympics have been interesting so far, because it feels like every day we wake up to another couple of medals from Canadians across the globe in PyeongChang.

Today, it was a gold medal in speed skating and silver in luge, but there was another achievement that didn’t earn anyone a medal, but might be one of the most memorable of the tournament. Leading up the Olympics, with NHL players sitting out the Olympics, some non-traditional storylines started to emerge for Team Canada.

Normally, all the discussion is about the All-Star roster from team Canada, but this year it’s more about the outcasts and names that had been forgotten by main stream hockey coverage.

The best example of that might be Wojtek Wolski, who had a pretty incredible morning.

On an eventful morning, this emotional moment caught the attention of the hockey world, but Wolski wasn’t done there. He scored another goal for Canada later in the first period and Team Canada is running away with their first game.

As the games continue, it will be interesting to see if Wolski remains a major contributer because adding a tournament MVP would be the storybook ending to this incredible story.
