On the same day the New York Yankees announced that they acquired J.A. Happ from the Blue Jays, the team informed their fans that superstar Aaron Judge will miss the next three weeks with a chip fracture on his right wrist.

The Yankee Stadium faithful and fantasy baseball owners of Judge collectively held their breathe on after he was beaned in the wrist by a pitch from Royals pitcher Jake Junis.

Judge shook it off, as he returned for his next at-bat in the game, where he notched a single. But, it was short-lived as Judge was subbed out of the game for a pinch-runner before being taken to the hospital.

Without knowing the severity of the injury, fans inside the stadium decided to hold a candlelight vigil for Judge.

We’ve just about seen it all, folks. Talk about over the top, although it’s still pretty funny to see.

This could’ve been a lot worse considering where Judge was hit, so the three weeks really isn’t that bad considering Judge will have a few weeks left to get back into game mode before playoff baseball appears on the horizon. No surgery will be needed for Judge’s wrist, which is obviously a good sign.

Earlier this week, the Yankees lost fellow right-handed slugger Gary Sanchez with a lingering groin injury that was re-aggravated. Sanchez’ expected timeline is roughly a month, meaning the Yankees will be absent of two of the best sluggers in baseball for the time being.

This season, Judge is batting .283/.396/.547 with 26 home runs and 61 RBI in his second full season in the league.
