The Toronto Maple Leafs shut out the Edmonton Oilers for the second consecutive night on Monday, and tensions were understandably running high. No team likes to get embarrassed like that, let alone when they’re competing against each other for the division lead.

The tensions didn’t lead to any actually fisticuffs, although they almost did… I guess?

Travis Dermott and Josh Archibald dropped the gloves, but there wasn’t really any punches thrown. Dermott quickly grabbed Archibald and wrestled him down to the ice.

Apparently that wasn’t something Dermott is looking to repeat. The Leafs defenceman took a few pointers from Zach Bogosian and Scott Sabourin during practice on Tuesday.

Zach Bogosian has 20 NHL fight videos on HockeyFights.com, Dermott has two including the Archibald “fight.” His first scrap vs, Troy Brower didn’t go very well either.

You love to see some veteran-to-youngster teaching among defensive pairings!
