Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final was a night to forget for Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby as he allowed five goals on 33 shots in a losing effort. However, he managed to bounce back nicely in Game 2 as he stopped 37 of 39 shots that came his way, including a series-changing, game-saving stop late in the game that got the Internet buzzing.

Some might consider it the greatest save of the year, while others are even considering it to be the greatest save in franchise history as it helped the Caps steal a win on the road before eventually going on to win the next three games. One Capitals fan went the extra mile to show his team and the goalie just how much the save meant to him by getting it inked on his arm.

Capitals fans and hockey fans in general are going to remember this Washington Capitals team for a very long time, and they’re going to be talking about Holtby’s late heroic save for many decades to come.
