The New York Yankees are currently trying to catch the Boston Red Sox atop the AL East standings but they’ve hit a bit of a rough patch as they’ve lost three of their past four games heading into Friday night’s tilt with the Detroit Tigers.

Keeping with the current trend, things didn’t start very well for the Yankees as they found themselves down 3-0 early on in the game. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Yankees manager Aaron Boone finally had enough as he completely lost it on home plate umpire Nic Lentz.

Not only did Boone lose his mind in the Lentz’s face and give him a bump, but after he was told he was getting tossed for the contact he went on to give the umpire a demonstration at home plate.

Boone’s outburst and ejection seemed to light a spark in the Yankees’ lineup as they went on to score four runs the next inning to take a 4-3 lead.
