Adam Wainwright has looked a lot like his former self so far this season as he’s currently on pace to put up his best numbers since the 2014 campaign when he won 20 games and posted a 2.38 ERA.

On Tuesday night, the 37-year-old was on the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals for the second game of a four-game series with the Washington Nationals. In the bottom of the second inning Nationals pitcher Anibal Sanchez stepped up to the plate and connected on a pitch from Wainwright. However, it was hit right back towards the Cardinals’ pitcher, who used his feet for the assist on the out.

We think y’all will get a kick out of this.

The ball ended up redirecting perfectly towards first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who barely had to move to record the final out of the inning.

Wainwright improved to 3-2 on the season with Tuesday’s win and lowered his ERA on the season to 3.73.
