The Grand Rapids Griffins and Rockford IceHogs went head-to-head in AHL action on Saturday night. Ben Street got the Griffins out to a nice start, as he scored just over 90 seconds into the game and then struck again just over two and a half minutes later. However, despite scoring the eventual game-winner and notching three points, it was the Griffins’ third goal that had everyone losing their minds.

With time expiring in the opening period, the Griffins were looking to extend their lead even more before the intermission. Matthew Ford sent the puck back to the point to Robbie Russo, who decided to just fire it towards the net and hope for something good to happen. That’s when Kyle Criscuolo took over and did the rest.

(Note: The goal comes around the :40 mark of the video.)

We’ve seen Sidney Crosby score a bunch of goals this season by whacking the puck out of mid-air, but that hand-eye coordination displayed by Criscuolo is unbelievable. The game was pretty much over after the first period, as the Griffins went on to beat the IceHogs 6-1.
