The Binghamton Devils and the Belleville Senators are both playing their first season in the AHL but the two teams already dislike each other.

On Wednesday, the Devils and the Senators met for the second time this year and the two teams couldn’t even make it through the first period without getting into all the rough stuff. Late in the opening frame, Tim Kennedy delivered a massive hit that led to a full line brawl between the two squads.

The players who ended up getting involved in the fight for Binghamton was Nathan Bastian, Viktor Loov and John Quenneville, while Belleville was represented by Filip Chlapik, Christian Jaros and Max McCormick.

Bastian, Loov, Jaros and Chlapik were all booted from the game and were given game misconducts for their parts in the scrap. That wasn’t the only physical stuff over the course of the night as the two teams ended up combining for 148 penalty minutes, with 78 going to the Devils and 70 going to the Sens.

The teams will play each other again this weekend in Binghamton so we’ll see if they decide to carry the rough stuff over to Saturday’s affair.
