There's no way to sugar-coat the Washington Capitals' struggles in the playoffs since making it to the Cup Final in 1998.

Last season, the Capitals won the Presidents' Trophy, but were ousted in the second round of the playoffs for the third straight season.

The team figures to be a Stanley Cup favourite ahead of the 2017-18 season, though, as they still have Ovi, Holtby and a host of other talented players.

Next year, though, something will be different.  As per Domain Name Wire, Verizon's naming rights expire next year and the Verizon Center will reportedly be renamed the Capital One Center.

According to DNW, Capital One recently registered a bunch of domain names that suggest they'll be taking over.

Once the report got out, people couldn't help but tweet about playoff jokes in relation to the new arena name.

As long as they avoid the Penguins in the second round, the Capitals once again have a great chance of making a run.
