Conor McGregor cemented his legacy as one of the greatest fighters of all-time just over a year ago when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the UFC Lightweight Championship while already holding the Featherweight championship.

McGregor hasn't fought in the UFC since then and in his time away from the octagon, he fought Floyd Mayweather and made a whole lot of money doing so.

At this point, fight fans just want to know when they'll see McGregor back in the octagon and on Tuesday, Dana White gave the fight world a shocking and bleak update on when that might be:

We went from hearing rumours not too long ago about a potential McGregor fight at the end of the year in Vegas to this.  It's shocking to say the least, especially when you hear it coming right from White.

That said, can you blame the guy if he's done with fighting.  He has a child and a family to worry about and fighting has been a way of providing for them and proving he's the best.  McGregor did both during his time inside the octagon, and while we hope he's not done fighting, we completely understand why he might be.
