Boston Red Sox fans didn’t need to watch Game 1 of the World Series to know it was a mistake to let Mookie Betts go, but it probably hurts more now than ever.

The 28-year-old finished the night 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two stolen bases, and two runs scored, and after the game former Red Sox DH David Ortiz joked about how he would have used part of his salary to keep Betts in Boston.

Boston finished last in the AL East at 24-36 while the Dodgers went an MLB-best 43-17 and are now just three wins away from capturing their first World Series since 1988.
