The Golden State Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans went head-to-head in New Orleans on Monday night and it ended up being a physical contest.

The Pelicans came out flying in the first half as they ended up taking a 69-49 lead over the Warriors into halftime, but the defending NBA champions powered back in the second half and turned things up a notch.

With the Warriors up by eight with just over one minute left to go in the game, Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins let their emotions get the best of them as the two All-Stars went at each other with their words.

Both players had to be held back by their teammates before they were tossed from the game by the referee.

Durant didn’t let the war of words or the ejection get to him as the Warriors went on to outscore the Pelicans 76-46 in the second half for a 125-115 victory. Golden State has won all three meetings against the Pelicans this season and can complete the season sweep at home in April.
