The Milwaukee Bucks shocked a lot of people when they selected Giannis Antetokounmpo with the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, but for the past couple of years fans have been wondering how he managed to fall so far down the board.

On Monday, Antetokounmpo added to his incredible journey to stardom by capturing his first career NBA MVP Award.

Antetokounmpo came well prepared with an acceptance speech, but by the time it came to actually say the speech he had all the emotions hit him at once and he did his best to hold back the tears.

The 24-year-old tore up the league this season as he helped lead the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA-best 60-win season while averaging career-high numbers across the board with 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 assists per game in 72  games played.
