Last month, Bakersfield Condors defenceman Brandon Manning was handed a 5-game suspension from the AHL for using a racial slur against Ontario Reign forward Bokondji Imama.

Friday night was Manning’s second game back in the lineup since returning from his suspension and the Condors, rebranded as the Bakersfield Fog for the night, happened to be playing against the Reign.

As you probably already guessed, it didn’t take very long for the two players to drop the gloves and go toe-to-toe with each other on the ice.

Less than three minutes into the game the two went at each other and Imama’s efforts in the tilt helped his team gain all the momentum as they went on to score 5 goals in the first period and took an 8-3 lead into the third period with one of those goals coming off Imama’s stick.

Clearly the Reign came out on a mission tonight.
