San Jose Sharks forward Joel Ward tied the knot with his fiancé Kitt Pedrosa in one of the more unconventional ways you’re likely to ever see.

A while back, the 37-year-old decided that he wanted to approach the nerve-wracking task by surprising his partner with a pair of customized Jordan sneakers. On Christmas Eve, Ecentrik Artistry shared a photo of the stunning shoes which follow a red, white and blue colour scheme, and feature the words “marry me” on them. As their tweet reads, Ward’s fiancé said yes and shared a photo of her rocking the brand new kicks.

Definitely don’t want to get those ones dirty.

Ward is just one of numerous hockey players to either ask the question himself, or take part in a marriage proposal this season. Nashville predators forward Victor Arvidsson recently assisted a Preds fan in his proposal by handing the future fiancé a ring on the team’s way out to the ice. P.K. of course stepped in and helped encourage the fan to say yes.

The proposal ironically comes shortly after two designers turned a pair of Air Jordan 1’s into hockey skates. If he could do it again, you can’t help but wonder If Ward would have opted to go with the set of skates rather than the standards shoes. Who could say no to a pair of these?

It’s undetermined when the wedding will take place, but you’ve got to expect Pedrosa to rock the pair at least once during her wedding night. Who knows, maybe Ward will shake things up with his suit for the big event, too?
