John Cena is known for a lot of things, but one thing that sometimes flies under the radar is the fact that he owns the record for granting the most wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the history of the foundation.

Over the years, Cena has touched the hearts of many fans across North America as he’s granted more than 500 wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and has helped change many lives through this initiative. The 40-year-old has also played roles in spreading awareness through WWE’s Be A Star anti-bullying campaign, Rise Above Cancer in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Ad Council’s Love Has No Labels campaign.

Recently, through Cricket Wireless, Cena was given some handwritten notes from fans across North America who wanted to personally thank him for everything he once did for them when they were dealing with some tough times. To make it even better, they all came out and surprised him at the very end and got the chance to thank Cena face-to-face.

Cena doesn’t grant all the wishes through Make-A-Wish Foundation for publicity, he does it all out of the kindness of his heart and you can tell as he starts to tear up throughout the notes.

Earlier this year, Cena defeated AJ Styles at Royal Rumble 2017 in San Antonio, Texas, and he celebrated his historic 16th World Title victory with a Make-A-Wish member who was in the crowd that night.

More professional athletes can learn a thing or two from the WWE superstar.
