Over the past few years, we’ve seen some diehard basketball fans go above and beyond for a chance to see their favourite player in action, even if it’s just for one night.

One NBA veteran who is still attracting fans from around the world is Vince Carter. The 41-year-old has been a fan favourite around the world ever since he captured the NBA Slam Dunk Contest back in 2000 and now fans are traveling thousands of miles to watch him play before he retires.

On Friday night, the Sacramento Kings played the Portland Trail Blazers at home and they had a very special guest in attendance for the game. Cheng, a die hard Vince Carter fan since 2001, flew nearly 6,700 miles over a 13-hour span from Taiwan just to watch Carter in action, but what he got instead was a million times better.

Cheng showed up to the Kings’ recent four-game home stand hoping to get a photo with Carter, but instead the Kings ended up hooking him up with so much more. Not only did they set up a meet and greet with his favourite player, which included autographs and photos, they also let him on the court to help Carter warm-up before the game. To top it all off, Cheng got to send an alley-oop pass to Carter, which he threw down with ease.

The die hard Carter fan went to all four home games on the Sacramento Kings’ current four-game home stand and had his dream become reality on the fourth and final night of his trip.
