It’s officially summertime, which means we have another year of peculiar internet challenges that annually make headlines around the world.

In 2014, it was the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge; last summer it was the drive-by dunk challenge.

Summer ’18 will now be remembered as the summer of #WhatTheFluff. What exactly is what the fluff? It’s essentially dog owners tricking their pets thinking they’ve vanished into a black hole using an invincibility cloak straight out of Harry Potter.

An owner will hold a blanket in front of them in between a doorway while the dog locks his eyes onto the blanket. In a split second, the owner will jump out of the doorway, with the blanket temporarily floating in the air before succumbing to gravity and falling to the ground.

If you need some visual explaining, let Mitch Marner show you how it’s done.

Jax be like “What the Fluff?” Marner evaded that blanket like a defenceman coming in for a crushing blow.

Esiason is the finance of Leafs forward Matt Martin, who’s grown to be a big brother for Marner and some of the younger players on the team. Martin and Esiason will officially tie the knot next year.

As of July 1st, Marner is eligible to sign a contract extension ahead of the third and final year in his entry-level contract.

Marner recorded 22 goals and 69 points (nice) in 82 games last season and added 9 points in seven playoff games.
