It’s a good day for Toronto Maple Leafs fans and Mitch Marner as the 22-year-old is officially staying put in the blue and white for another six years.

Around 6pm Eastern, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger broke the news that the two sides had officially agreed on a new deal, and a few hours after it was all said and done Marner took to social media to share his feelings about his new deal.

Marner grew up a Maple Leafs fan and made it clear many, many times that he wants to play for the Leafs, and on Friday he proved just that by agreeing to a new six-year, $65.358 million deal.
