The Miami Heat officially missed playoffs, which means Dwyane Wade’s farewell tour has officially reached its final destination.

That destination was Brooklyn for a date with the Nets.

After a long and legendary career, Wade has enjoyed saying goodbye to the basketball world over the last few months. A player that has always commanded respect both on and off the court, the basketball world embraced him right back. When he rolled into Barclays Center to suit up in the NBA for one final time, he probably wasn’t even expecting this chant.

It’s a chant he heard in Miami after Paul Pierce ruffled some feathers with this answer:

The strange part of it is, Pierce is a former Nets player. Wade is not. In fact, Pierce was a major part of the Nets advancing past the 1st round in a series that Toronto Raptors fans remember but would rather forget.

The Nets’ faithful still decided to take the side of Wade, believing that it was obvious enough to join the chant.
