The NBA Finals are being played in Canada for the first time so naturally, basketball fans are about to see some things they’ve probably never witnessed before.

Like a player drinking maple syrup from a shot glass.

Yes, you read that correctly. Guillermo from the Jimmy Kimmel show is on hand at the NBA Finals media day and one of his first orders of business was to poke a little fun at Canada. It didn’t take him long to unscrew a bottle of Canada’s most valued liquid (which also happened to be shaped like a Maple Leaf) and pour him a nutritious drink. Despite Guillermo “watching his calories”, he made sure to jump in on the action as well.

Norm Powell just did a shot of Maple Syrup with Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel Live 😂

That looked delicious. It truly doesn’t get much more Canadian than maple syrup!

You know the #WorldJuniors are in 🇨🇦 when a “maple syrup” chant breaks out! 🍁🍁🍁

The scene was completely surreal following the Raptors’ Game 6 win. They weren’t slugging back maple syrup shots, but thousands did come together to sing O’Canada on the streets. It doesn’t get much better than this!

They’re really out here chanting “O Canada” in the streets 😂🇨🇦

You can probably expect some truly unique Canadian moments as the series progresses. But for goodness sake Guillermo, get the man some pancakes or something to eat it with next time!
