The Boston Bruins have the Toronto Maple Leafs number. In three out of the last four playoff appearances by the Leafs, they’ve played the Bruins. In three out of the last four playoff appearances by the Leafs, they’ve been eliminated by the Bruins. Game 7’s, eh?

It also meant that there were no more Canadian teams left in the playoffs. The old saying when Canada ends up watching teams south of the border compete for Lord Stanley’s mug is “well there’s plenty of Canadians on the American teams”. One of those is Patrice Bergeron.

Do you think he felt bad for Canadians that were cheering on the Leafs? Well…

No. He absolutely does not feel bad for them.

Overall, it’s kind of a strange question to ask. It is pretty hard to imagine any hockey player genuinely feeling bad for another team’s fan base, especially one that is their bitter rival.
