Sunday told a different story at the U.S. Open for legendary golfer Phil Mickelson.

The Major seems to be the one Mickelson can’t figure out how to win. The 48-year-old has finished second or tied in the position six different times but hasn’t found a way to get over the hump. During Saturday's third round, his frustration clearly got the best of him on Shinnecock Hills’ 13th hole when he hit his ball as it was still moving on the green. The act resulted in a two-stroke penalty.

After everything, Mickelson finished the hole with a quintuple-bogey 9 when it was all said and done. His final round was different, though, as he found a way to redeem himself on the same hole. The San Diego, California native delivered with a solid par and topped it off with a celebration for the ages.

Epic.

Mickelson isn’t the only player to pull off some questionable moves on the greens. We think John Daly’s conduct at the 1999 U.S. Open was actually a little worse than what we saw this weekend. But hey, at least he was rocking some pretty sweet flow while doing it.

Mickelson finished tied for 48th with a +16 score. Can we all just agree that golf is just too frustrating sometimes?
