One of the biggest dominoes on deadline day has fallen.

On Monday morning, TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that New York Rangers forward Kevin Hayes has been traded to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Brendan Lemieux, a 2019 first-round draft pick and conditional 4th round draft pick. The condition of the pick is contingent on if the Jets win the Stanley Cup.

Kevin Hayes is the newest member of the Winnipeg #Jets. Thoughts? 🤔 #TradeCentre

The Boys are in studio breaking down today’s news and our old friend Pierre McGuire is in town for the big day. Pierre, who’s been known to drop some memorable lines in the past, added to his list with his latest comments regarding the deal. Did he just insinuate that the Jets are going to the cup?

Real talk though… Ya never know, it’s not out of the question for Winnipeg to have snow in June!

Regardless of whether they play into June or not, it looks Hayes will be just fine rocking his new threads. This photo he posted in 2014 of him as a kid in old Jets threads is a beautiful site for all Winnipeg fans. Maybe they should consider throwin’ it back for a playoff game!

It may not be the exact same threads, but Kevin Hayes is back in Jets jersey 👀

Pierre, we love the one-liners and we’re glad you were able to join the panel today. Because you may have been sidelined for a bit had this puck travelled just a few inches the other way!
