The day a lot of Vancouver Canucks fans have been waiting for finally came on Thursday as 2018 7th overall pick Quinn Hughes hit the ice for his NHL debut.

Since it was the first time the 19-year-old got to rock his Canucks jersey for an official NHL game, the rest of his teammates made sure to welcome Hughes to the NHL with the classic rookie lap to start the night off.

You’ve got to love the fact that he hit the ice for his first-ever NHL warm-up without a bucket.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding the Orlando, Florida native and rightfully so. This past year the young defenceman scored five goals and put up 33 points in 32 games after scoring five goals and putting up 29 points in 37 games last year.
