Over the past decade or so teams have really started to go all out on their championship rings – and rightfully so considering it might not happen again for a long time or ever again.

On Tuesday night the 2019-20 NBA season officially tipped off with a meeting between the Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Pelicans. With the Raptors being the reigning NBA champions, there was a special pre-game ceremony held as the players and staff received their champions rings and the team unveiled their first-ever champions banner in the rafters at Scotiabank Arena.

Usually the rings are a surprise for the players, but it turns out Kyle Lowry had a pretty big say in the actual design of the Raptors’ champions rings as the team’s ownership let him lead the way and felt he was the best to speak on behalf of the team and his teammates.

Let’s just say he went all out and thought of just about anything and everything to make their ring stand out from the rest and truly make them one-of-a-kind.

There’s a lot of details in the #Raptors’ championship rings 👀

From the chevron to the North logo to the 16 rubies representing the 16 players on the team and the one inside representing all of Canada, Lowry really thought of it all. On top of that, he made sure everyone’s ring had their own unique touch to it and let them add their own engraving on the inside of the ring.
