The Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds didn’t play much defence in Tuesday night’s game as the White Sox pulled away with a 12-8 victory in extra innings.

In the top of the 12th inning, the White Sox exploded for four runs for the win and they got one of them in a very unusual way via a hard hit ball from third baseman Yolmer Sanchez and a misplay by right fielder Brandon Dixon.

Dixon ended up timing the jump perfectly as the ball landed right in his glove, only it ended up being too powerful for him to hold onto and resulted in Sanchez’s league-leading ninth triple of the season and a 12th run for the ChiSox.

We’ve seen the ball bounce off gloves and over the wall and even off heads and over the wall, but we’ve never seen a glove get knocked entirely off someone’s hand while they keep the ball in play.
