Where in the world is the Larry O’Brien trophy at? This time, the Republic of the Congo.

Serge Ibaka has always been proud of where he’s from, and he’s always given back. Now, returning to his hometown of Brazzaville, Ibaka is also packing some extra hardware: His new friend Larry.

"This time, it's different. This trip is a blessing, coming back here with Larry," says Ibaka.

With general manager Masai Ujiri helming roster construction, the Raptors have never been shied from international talent, and their championship team from last season was one of the league’s most ethnically diverse. Through programs such as Basketball Without Borders, they have also given back to the game around the world.

This year, Ibaka became the first player from the Congo Republic to win a NBA championship; Pascal Siakam and Jeremy Lin also became the first Cameroonian and Asian-American champions, respectively.

In other words, the Larry OB is going worldwide this summer — although that isn’t going to stop the trophy from making a surprise appearance at Drake’s OVO Fest in Toronto.
