Shohei Ohtani was one of the biggest names on the free agent market this past offseason and after hearing offers from teams around the league he ended up signing a deal with the Los Angeles Angels.

The 23-year-old ended up struggling on the mound and at the plate during his first spring training, but that didn’t stop the Angels from adding him to their Opening Day roster. In his first at-bat at Angel Stadium, Ohtani showed the home crowd why there was so much hype behind him during the winter by smashing a three-run shot.

In what was already an inning full of runs, Ohtani added to the excitement by crushing his first career home run in front of the Angels faithful and he got plenty of love from his teammates after they welcomed him back to the dugout with the silent treatment.
