Kevin Smith has had a busy career in showbiz. The actor, filmmaker, comedian, comic book writer, podcaster has dipped his toes in many different corners of the industry, and after coming to prominence following his portrayal of Silent Bob in the low-budget cult favourite Clerks (a film which he created) he has been around the scene in all sorts of capacities.

He’s also become known for his unique wardrobe.

Smith could often be seen rocking hockey jerseys, something not a ton of people do on a regular basis. While Smith is a diehard New Jersey Devils fan, he also had some custom threads done up to stay a little more on brand.

Well, those days have (mostly) come to a close, according to the former self-proclaimed “Fatman”. Following a heart attack that nearly took his life, Smith lost a ton of weight and decided to no longer wear the baggy fitting hockey jerseys – particularly the ones that spoke to his former unhealthy lifestyle. In response to a tweet from Marvel Chief Creative Joe Quesada, Smith explained that “the hockey jerseys were done with (him)”.

Nobody can argue with that.

Joe Quesada’s tweet was in reference to Bill Maher’s recent criticism of the way some comic book fans dress. While he was commenting, a picture of Kevin Smith was displayed.

What’s wrong with hockey jerseys?!
