The Calgary Stampeders and Ottawa Redblacks have established quite the rivalry over their last few meetings.
After the Redblacks came back to defeat the Stampeders 39-33 in overtime of the 104th Grey Cup, the two teams opened up the 2017 season against one another and ended up going back and forth all night long.
On Thursday, the two teams were at it yet again, this time in Calgary. With the game locked in a 6-6 tie late in the second quarter, the Stampeders took the lead courtesy of a 26-yard touchdown by newcomer Marken Michel.
Nothing like scoring a touchdown on your very first catch in your very first game.
As for Michel, the soon-to-be 24-year-old signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Massachusetts and attended the team’s 2016 training camp.
