It’s all smiles tonight for the Subban family.

For the first time in their hockey careers, Nashville Predators defenceman P.K. Subban is squaring off against his little brother, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Malcolm. The contest is taking place in Nashville.

The Golden Knights are holding their fathers’ trip, and is the reason why Karl, the boys’ dad, is rocking a Vegas jersey. A special photo nonetheless.

Both players have managed to make an impressive imprint in the league so far this season. Heading into tonight, P.K. has already collected 18 points in 28 games while Malcolm holds a 6-2 record with a 2.26 GAA, good enough for eighth best in the NHL. The latter was placed on injured reserve by the Golden Knights earlier this season after sustaining a lower-body injury.

The Subban boys may be seeing another brother don an NHL sweater in the not-so distant future. Jordan Subban, the youngest of the three, was selected by the Vancouver Canucks with the 115th overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft and scored 36 points in each of his first two seasons with the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets (2015-16, 2016-17). On December 8, the defenceman was sent to the Los Angeles Kings organization in exchange for Nic Dowd. A move to LA now puts all three brothers in an American NHL organization and keeps Jordan and Malcolm in the same division.

Both teams are hot right now, as Nashville has won three games in a row while the Golden Knights have captured two. Time will tell who exits the match victorious, but it’s sure to be a good one at Bridgestone Arena.
