The New Jersey Devils have not made the playoffs since they fell short against the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup Final during the 2011-12 season, but it looks like their playoff drought is about to come to an end this season.

The Devils were one of the hottest teams to start the season but many people expected them to drop off after a month or two. However, the young guns on the team managed to stay consistent throughout the course of the season and the veterans stepped up in big ways and produced the way management expected them to and now they’re a Florida Panthers loss and a Devils win away from clinching their first playoff berth in six years.

During one of the team’s recent games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, one Devils fan recorded his young son’s reaction to one of his favourite players Blake Coleman scoring a goal and it’s the greatest thing you’ll watch all day.

It's always great to see fans fall in love with the game at such a young age and it’s even better when the players acknowledge their passion, like Coleman did after he came across this video.

If the Devils can officially clinch that long awaited playoff spot this young fan and the rest of the Devils fan base will have plenty to cheer about after the regular season concludes.
