To the shock of many Canadians, one of our most sure-shot Winter Olympic sports, curling, failed to produce a medal on both the men’s and the women’s side (although they did reach the top of the podium in the mixed division). The elimination of a curling-powerhouse in Canada opened the door for other nations to chase the podium. While Korea and Sweden are geared up to play for gold on the women’s side, the men’s side was won decisively by an American team that played well throughout the entire tournament.

On the American team is 35-year old Tyler George. While George celebrated the victory with his team, one former classmate of George’s dug up an old high school yearbook that proved to have predicted an Olympic medal at some point in George’s future.

It is not listed which one is George, although if we had to guess it would probably be second from the left. Either way, George seemed to appreciate the nostalgia.

It’s difficult to imagine what it’s like to win gold, but apparently Tyler George has been dreaming about is since 2001!
