Marc-Andre Fleury is a year removed from being a Pittsburgh Penguin, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been making time for his old teammates.

The NHL’s Player Media Tour made its way to Chicago today, where some of the NHL’s best gathered together for a day in front of the cameras. It was no surprise to see that both players were chosen to represent their respective franchises, and while catching up on the ice, they managed to capture a pretty classic photo. If you’re a Pens fan, this one might cause you to shed a tear or two.

The two go back a long, long way. Malkin was drafted just one year after his former goaltender, and the two went on to capture three Stanley Cups together in Pittsburgh. After he was taken by Vegas in the Expansion draft, Malkin made sure to deliver a special message to his old friend.

Pens fans might be feeling a little sad, but perhaps this news from Geno will cheer them up.
