Jaromir Jagr's has spent more time playing in the NHL than a number of players in the league have spent on earth. His longevity is not only a testament to how great of a career Jagr has had, but it also makes from some pretty fantastic throwback photos.

Back in 1990, Jagr was just beginning his career in the NHL for his first team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Around that time, Lightning star Nikita Kucherov was still three years away from being born. Before the two ever faced off in an NHL game, they actually met off the ice when Kucherov was just a young fan.

Who knows if Kucherov actually knew it back then, but years later he would go on to face the Czech legend on the ice in the NHL, all because Jagr's an absolute tank who probably had some sort of deal with Father Time.

Monday, Jagr cleared waivers and announced his intentions to return to Europe where he will play for HC Kladno ( a team he co-owns). While Jagr's NHL career may not technically be over, it's starting to seem rather unlikely that another team will give the 45-year-old another shot.
