Game 1 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins was a wild one.

On Thursday night, the two sides kicked off their second playoff series in as many years, picking up exactly where they left off from last April. Toronto eventually came away with a 4-1 victory and the game featured its share of memorable moments. Mitch Marner scored on a short-handed penalty shot, Nazem Kadri threaded an incredible saucer pass to William Nylander on his own breakaway goal, and perhaps most memorable of all, forward Trevor Moore LIT UP Zdeno Chara. Let’s take a little walk through of what happened.

And then Big Z goes FLYING into the boards. What a hit!

Now that’s how you finish a check folks!

Let’s put this into perspective for a second. Moore, an undrafted 24-year-old, is just 5’10, 182 pounds. Chara, on the other hand, is 6,9, 250 pounds. That’s outrageous!

The Toronto Maple #Leafs open the series by stealing a victory on the road.

Okay, so this obviously wasn’t the first time Chara’s been on the receiving end of a huge hit. Earlier this year, the much bigger Alex Ovechkin sent the Slovakian flying over the boards. Maybe knocking him off balance isn’t as hard as it sounds?

Props to Moore for showing some serious guts..
