It’s been two-and-a-half seasons since Phil Kessel left the Toronto Maple Leafs, and if you’ve been living under a rock, quite a bit has happened over that time span.

Kessel currently sits fourth in NHL scoring with 66 points heading into Saturday night’s game against his former team. As noted in the graphic above, Phil doesn’t really seem to care whether he wins the trophy for the NHL’s top point producer.

“The Thrill’ is a pretty laid back dude, and seems to be enjoying his time in the Steel City a little more than the pressure cooker that is Toronto.

Prior to the game on Saturday, Kessel’s old centreman Tyler Bozak spoke about his good friend’s away from Toronto, and all the fun he’s having off the ice.

 

Not only has Phil overcome cancer and the owner of two Stanley Cup rings, but he also appears to be an insider when it comes to injuries.

Kessel broke the news that his former teammate Jake Gardiner will be in the Leafs lineup on Saturday.
