One of the surprises of the Leafs offseason came when the team moved long-time forward Nazem Kadri to the Colorado Avalanche in a deal to acquire defenceman Tyson Barrie.

For years, the Leafs have relied on Kadri as a smart and physical centreman, and one of his former teammates in Toronto thinks he’s in the perfect place to thrive with the Avalanche. Tyler Bozak says Kadri will be right at home the Central Division.

“He’s got great skills and he’s got that nasty streak that a lot of guys don’t like playing against. Anybody can use a player like that — a guy who can throw his body around, score big goals and get into it with the other guys, get under guys’ skin. A very good all-around player,” Bozak told The Denver Post.

Well, maybe best of all for Kadri and the Avs about his move to the Central is the fact that he won’t have to face the Bruins as often.
