Athletes are very superstitious people, so when things stop going their way it’s time to make some sort of change, minor or major.

On Wednesday afternoon Yasiel Puig and the Cincinnati Reds were looking to complete a three-game sweep over the Brewers in Milwaukee. For his first three at-bats of the afternoon Puig stepped up to the plate rocking a goatee. By his fourth at-bat of the day he looked a little different as he stepped up to plate in the 7th inning no longer rocking a moustache.

The quick change didn’t make a difference, though, as Puig ended up striking out in that at-bat.

We’ve seen baseball players switch up their bats for certain pitchers, but the in-game shave is starting to become a new trend as players across the league are starting to make changes to their facial hair in the middle of games.

You’ve got to love sports.
