Zion Williamson was selected first overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, but he didn’t make his NBA debut until January 22, 2020, due to a torn meniscus he suffered during the preseason.

It took the 19-year-old a little bit of time to adjust to playing in the NBA – three quarters to be exact – but once he got comfortable he showed the world why he was the first overall pick in last summer’s draft.

Although they ultimately fell short, the Pelicans put together an incredible fourth quarter comeback and it was orchestrated by the rookie, who dropped 17 straight points for the Pelicans including four three pointers.

If the fourth quarter was just a preview of what’s to come, Pelicans fans have every right to be extremely excited right now, even though New Orleans lost on Wednesday night.

As for Zion, he finished his NBA debut tied for a team-high 22 points to go with 7 rebounds and 3 assists in just 18 minutes of action.
