Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is having a season that is going to be talked about for many years to come.

Not only did he become just the second player in NBA history to finish with a season average of a triple-double, but he broke Oscar Robertson’s record for the most triple-doubles in a single season with 42.

As all eyes were on Westbrook as he chased down a 55-year-old record, even the man who held the previous record believed Westbrook could do it and wanted to see him break it.

On Wednesday night, Westbrook got a special visit before the Thunder’s season finale against the Denver Nuggets, and it was none other than Oscar Robertson himself.

The only two men in NBA history to average a triple-double over the course of an NBA season met before the game, and it was a pretty awesome thing to see.

It doesn’t get much greater than that.

A season that has already been a memorable one for Westbrook just got even better.
