Sports cards can be a very expensive hobby.  Sure, it may take years for cards to appreciate in value, but it's well worth it if you've got that card that turns out it's worth millions almost two decades later.

The card we're talking about is a LeBron James rookie card that sold at an auction for $1.8 million, the most any basketball card has sold for ever.

Only 23 versions of the card were ever produced, so if you've got a basketball card collection, you should probably check it out, just in case.

That's what LeBron did, afterall, and confirmed on Instagram he's got a couple of those copies.

LeBron is sitting on almost 4 million in his own cards and the value of them could go up even more depending on how the rest of his career plays out.
