It’s been a rough season for the Vancouver Canucks and the team’s fan base, but they’ve already started to shift their focus towards the future as they’re starting to give their prospects some time with the NHL club before the regular season wraps up.

One of the latest prospects to get rewarded with an NHL contract is 2015 fifth round draft pick Adam Gaudette, who inked a three-year, entry-level contract on Monday. However, before heading west to Vancouver, the 21-year-old wanted to go BarDown one last time at Northeastern University’s Matthews Arena before he officially wrapped up his college career.

Gaudette wasted no time settling in with his new teammates as he was already on the ice for the Canucks’ practice on Tuesday morning.

Canucks fans were curious as to what number the NCAA forward would be rocking with the NHL club and it turns out he’s going to be wearing No. 88.

Gaudette won’t be in the team’s lineup on Tuesday night when they host the Anaheim Ducks, but we can expect to see him in the lineup on either on Thursday night against the Edmonton Oilers or on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

In his three seasons with the Northeastern Huskies, Gaudette registered 68 goals and 74 assists for 142 points in 116 games.
